More than 160 candidates are on the August ballot in Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties. But not every voter will see all those names.

Registered Democrats and Republicans can compete in their party’s primaries on Aug. 20 to pick candidates for the November general election.

Everyone, regardless of party, can vote in a variety of elections, including nonpartisan contests for judge, some county commission races and school board. There are also several primaries in which only candidates from one party are running, which means they’re open to all voters because the winners of open primaries will win the office in August.

Here’s a list of the races that are up for grabs and the candidates competing for your vote.
