I like how welcoming everyone is at UNLV, it made me feel more excited about starting there. Everyone is really nice and being around such a diverse group of students was awesome! UNLV is very serious about each students safety and they show that by having numerous resources the students can use. I’ve like UNLV so far, I personally wouldn’t want much to change.

My overall experience at UNLV has had its up and downs. Firstly, I have never been to Vegas prior to attending UNLV. I was born and raised in Hawai'i, so moving to a completely different state on my own was definitely a change. However, the people you meet at UNLV make it worth it! I've met great people, both professors and students, who've helped me find my footing in the university! Campus and student life is great! There's always something to do whether it's a club, activity, or social event where you can meet new people and get involved with the school! Earlier this year, we had an incident involving a school shooting. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, and something I never thought I'd have to endure. However, UNLV along with Las Vegas police did an incredible job handling the situation, which put me at ease during the incident. I will be returning to UNLV for my sophom*ore year of college, and encourage others to attend UNLV as well.

My experience going to UNLV has been eventful as I met more students with the same interests. I liked how diverse campus life was and the many different hobbies you could do. I love the look of the campus which is peaceful and harmonious. There are plenty of trees and natural animal life such as the bunnies and campus cats! One thing I would like to see is more study and parking spots. The variety of study spots should be increased as many students love the library which tends to get packed. There are many students here who complain about the amount of staff parking compared to student parking. Parking can be expensive and hard to find. Another change I'd like to see is funding for a safer campus as there was a school shooting not too long ago. Although an open campus is said to be beneficial for student engagement, the college in this part of the city is not ideal for safety, especially at night time.
