Protagonist Aileen Lauren d'Autriche is reborn as the antagonist in her favorite dating sim, and she needs to get some plot armor right away. Aileen breaks things off with Prince Cedric and rushes into the arms of the kuudere demon king Claude, who is surprised at first, but then welcomes his new lover. Aileen must figure out her new destiny with Claude by her side, all so she can survive her doom and, most of all, overcome Lilia Rainworth's cruel schemes time and again.

Overall, I'm the Villainess is a good watch because Aileen is such a smart and kind protagonist who changes everyone's lives for the better, all while developing a surprisingly sweet and inspirational romance with Claude, who's far from a token boyfriend in her eyes. As for Aileen's and Lilia's feud, the anime poses some interesting questions about the ethical boundaries of being an isekai anime protagonist in a game world, surrounded by NPCs. Are those NPCs real people with real feelings, or just toys to play with? Aileen and Lilia have very different answers to that question.

Trapped in a Dating Sim isn't quite a top-tier title, but it provides a welcome change of pace. The antihero Leon Bartfort is teleported into a bizarre otome game with strong sci-fi elements and must forge meaningful relationships to survive. He was reborn as the third son of a minor noble family, meaning he was born near the bottom of society, being just prestigious enough to get enrolled at a local school. At least Leon will find a powerful war robot to give him a leg up in combat and perhaps impress a few people.

Leon leans into his underdog status and annoys everyone with refreshing boldness and honesty because he has so little to lose. But he's still a decent and brave person, so he and his lady friends, Olivia and Angelica, fight hard to save the day from the real villains. The anime's wacky but effective blend of isekai, giant robots, magical girls, high school romantic drama, and comedy makes for a surprisingly fun watch that may take anime fans by pleasant surprise when they tune in.

Katarina, upon resuming her old identity on the inside, will embark on a brand-new quest in the romantic world of Fortune Lover. Rather than being a spoiled bully, Katarina will rewrite everyone's love lives to make sure the story will never end, and thus Katarina the villainess will never face her own doom. Katarina's goal may be selfish, but she genuinely enjoys helping people who need her, so in her eyes, it's a win-win for all involved. She might even succeed too hard and create a co-ed of adoring lovers around her, but Katrina will be too dense to realize what exactly is going on. She's a typical ahodere, which makes the situation that much funnier. The level of comedy is powerful enough to land it closer to the middle of the rankings.
