Jurgen Klopp is creating 'an ecological family paradise' in Mallorca after purchasing a villa on the Balearic island for £3.4million.

The Liverpool manager stunned the world of football in February when he announced he will leave Anfield in May after nine seasons, despite having two years left on his deal.

Klopp, 56, cited the fact he was 'running out of energy' for his decision and hinted he may never manage in football ever again.

The German was non-committal on his post-Liverpool future, but if he were to take a sabbatical or step away from the game altogether he could well retire in his mansion in the Mediterranean.

FormerLiverpool defenderand pundit Mark Lawrensonbelieves Klopp is planning to relocate to Mallorca with his wife, Ulla.

'I'm not sure I should tell you this but it's not a massive secret. He's having a house built in Mallorca,' Lawrenson told Off the Ball in February.

'I have a house somewhere not far away from where he's building his.Ulla, his wife, is in charge of everything in terms of that, and he [Klopp] said: "The bloody thing's not even ready yet, and I'm paying all the bills!"

'So he's probably going to retreat to there for a while, I would suggest.'

Klopp purchased the home in Mallorca in June 2022 for £3.4m(€4m) from Swiss businessman and artist Rolf Knie and has decided to completely rebuild the5,000-square metre property.

According to Bild, Klopp has transformed the villa into alow-energy house, where the heating and air conditioning systems are interconnected.

The two systems are regulated by a computer to ensure the temperature in the house remains unchanged, regardless of the outside weather.

Bild adds that allelectrical devices and appliances are also regulated by a central system, which Klopp can control from his phone.

The set-up is intended to reduce electricity consumption by up to 75 percent, while a state-of-the-art new irrigation system is designed to recognise when it is required.

Landscaping work on the garden has been placed in the hands of the same companythat designedthe garden of the 'Son Bunyola' hotel owned by British billionaire Richard Branson.

It is understood that Klopp stays at a nearby hotel when he visits the island, but that is set to change when the redevelopment is complete.

While work remains ongoing,Lawrenson insisted it will be well worth the wait.

'I can tell you now, it's not a nice gaff, it's an absolutely fabulous gaff. It's sensational, it really seriously is,' Lawrenson added.

Klopp has won the Premier League, Champions League, the FA Cup and Carabao Cupover nine hugely successful years at Anfield and his departure has sent shockwaves through the Premier League.

In a video message Liverpool released in February, Klopp said: 'I will leave the club at the end of the season.

'I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it – or at least try to explain it.

'It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now.

'I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.'

The German boss, who has achieved legendary status with Liverpool fans following his trophy-laden stint is now preparing for his final game in the dugout at Anfield, where he will lead his team out against Wolves on Sunday.

It will be an emotional time for both Klopp and the Liverpool faithful where the curtain will finally fall on his reign as boss.

Klopp was seensoaking it all in at Anfield ahead of his penultimate game in charge last weekend, where images leaked on social media have pulled at the heart strings of Liverpool fans.

The 56-year-old was pictured standing in the centre circle and in the stands alone, with fans on social media suggesting that he was filming a farewell video ahead of his final game in charge.

A supporter in the grandstand posted a video of Klopp on the pitch and they are heard saying: 'He's just standing in the centre circle alone and it's so sad. He's taking it all in.'

Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as manager on October 8, 2015, and this weekend's clash with Wolves will be his 489th match in charge of the Reds.

Liverpool had long been in the hunt for the Premier League title this season, before a bad run of form in recent weeks, meant they fell out of the hunt behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

The German already looked emotional as he clapped the support at Villa Park in his final away game in charge during Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Aston Villa.

'I know it's the last time, it just doesn't feel (like) it,' Klopp told reporters after the game.

'The away fans were always absolutely insane. What they did, where they were, we asked them to travel a lot over the years. It is a wonderful relationship.'

Liverpool have also announced plans forKlopp'ssend off, where fans will get the chance to say farewell alongside a number of famous faces.

The event has been described as 'Klopp’s final goodbye to supporters' and it will be hosted bylifelong Reds fan John Bishop.

'This is going to be a very special night,' Klopp said on the club's website. 'With lots of fantastic memories shared and plenty of great music too.

'I’m really looking forward to spending it with our fans, the heartbeat of this wonderful and unique club.'

The exclusive event will also include a live Q&A with the German boss, hosted by LFCTV presenter Peter McDowall.

Late last week, Klopp said he believed if he had not made the shock decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the club would have struggled next year.

'The football hasn't been great the last few weeks, and as a result you start hearing people say that I look really tired. I'm just old,' said Klopp in an interview with Sky Sports.

'I'm about being in it 100 per cent until the last day. That was always the plan. I was sure that if I didn't make that decision now, next year it could have been tricky. The thought of picking yourself up for another pre-season, make big decisions.

'For that, you really need to be full of energy. 80 per cent is not enough. That's the truth. It's too much. It's a 24/7 job. Yes, there are more important things in life, but if you really care then it's 24/7.

'I did it for a pretty long time and I knew I couldn't continue to do it at the standard necessary for a club like Liverpool.'
