Product Works As Described

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have a ton of leaves and other years have raked and bagged upwards to 100 bags then would have to transport them to a depot. I was skeptical of this product after reading the reviews, further looking into the reviews I noticed people were putting this kit on a non Cub Cadet mower. Mine is a Cub Cadet mower and it works perfect, I do have to stay on top of the leaves mower multiple times and wouldn't recommend doing them when they are wet but the product works amazing and is so much easier and cheaper then raking countless bags.

Brand New Cubby!!

After some difficulty acquiring the correct blade pattern ("s" pattern as opposed to the Star pattern) installation was relatively easy and the cut was stellar!! Happy with my ZT1!!

I had to remove the extra deck because every row...

I had to remove the extra deck because every row mowed left lines continuously. I could have just bought blades with out the kit and saved some money .

Won't fit

Would give 5 stars but these blades won't work on my new cub cadet. The drive mount is a different style.

Plug Fit and Ease - Pitiful

Bought new in store at Home Depot on 3/25. Installed on 3/28. After installing the pin at the front of the plug into the hole in the anti-scalp wheel bracket, the hole at the rear of the plug would not fit over the stud at the rear of the deck. So, I removed the discharge chute to make it "easier". I had to ream out the hole on the plug top to get it to fit over the stud and nut on the deck. After using it, the retainer clip had sprung from the groove on the bottom of the deck.

Bought this mulching kit with new mower not good.

I bought this mulching kit to cut down on the amount of bagging and try to be a bit more environmentally conscious but it has been, well not good. The plastic cover fits poorly stays on for 5min max. The poor fit results in clumps of grass and a lot of dirt and grass on the mower. I used SS bolts to bolt the cover onto the deck. That fixed it popping off. The biggest problem is with the mulch blades they leave an uncut strip of grass on the right side of the cut path? I talked to the place I bought it at a lawn mower dealer. They didn't have an answer told me to bring it in. Also the mulch blades are only cutting with the outside tip of the blade or about 30% of the blade. I have tried 3 sets of new blades all the same result. I have to cut my lawn 2 times to get rid of the uncut rows/strips it leaves. I did put a set of regular side discharge blades on to see the difference they cut fine no uncut rows but the dirt & grass flying up into my face I could see.

Great! If you have some extra things laying around

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All I needed was a chunk of steel, a grinder, some silicone, black paint, and some nuts and bolts and i was ready to go. It is a shame that despite sooooooo many people complaining about the poor engineering, cub still sends out this mulck kit that has a faulty plug. If I can do it better, so could they.

Dull blades and poroly designed deck plug

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy online order and delivered on time. However, the blades are dull. After the first cut I had to take them out and sharpened them. Upon inspection of the blades, only the outter half appeared to be used effectively. The deck plug is not tight enough, got a lot of crippings stock in the seams after each use. In addition, the installation instructions do not seem to be accurate.

Don’t waste your time and money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought and installed on 1 month old zt1 42”. Tried multiple blade positioning configurations because the manual or instructions don’t specify. Leaves a line of uncut grass even overlapping the tractor half way. Took them off during first use after trying parallel and perpendicular positions.
